Poem Two
Poem Two
1 I come to you hungry and tired
you give me food -- let me sleep
I come to you weak
you give me strength, and that's deep
2 I come to you blind,
and -- you give me sight
I come to you in darkness
you give me the light
3 And when I am with you
I have no fears
And when you reach out and you touch me
I cry no more tears
4 You give me all I have
every day, every night
Every breath that I take
but I still don't treat you right
5 So I stand before you
nothing but a wretched reflection
I ask you for forgiveness
and I beg you for protection
6 It is so awesome
it's got me beating down your door
'Cause in my life
I've never known live like this before
7 And God it's so wonderful
to have no more pain
And it's even more wonderful
to get away from the rain
8 The strain that I felt before
it's gone
And I know it's all good, so I wipe
away the tears of that sad song
9 I give you my life
and you lead me to green pastures
And Lord I'll try hard to focus
in between the chapters
So if what it takes for me to please
is to show you to those who
I'm sorry that I only have one life
and not more time, to take you and show
